Silverstone Classic - anyone going from London?

The Silverstone Classic is on in a couple of days time. Past years have been really excellent with a brilliant selection of historic and more recent racing cars doing what they do best.

Is anyone from London going up on Saturday? Anyone want to convoy up? I'm planning to do the M40 route since the M1 has that 40mpg SPECS zone. Could rendezvous at the A40 Westbound Shell petrol station just before Hangar Lane near Park Royal?

 
Sorry Adrien, I know this is out of your way but just a reminder for everyone that Porsche West London have offer us their forecourt carpark to be used as a meet up point for any convoys we organise. Also, if organised well in advance they can arrange some breakfast for us too i.e. (Beacon sandwich and a cuppa; and maybe some cornflakes for veggies like me [;)])

I'm still not sure about my weekend commitments but will only know on Friday if I can come...

Thinking of meeting up around 8'ish to get there by 930'ish? I wonder if those Specs will remain after the widening... u going in the 2.4 or Tango livery?
 
Remember, now known as Team Orange , they re both Blutorange, even have same can of touch up paint! Shall be in the old car KCR ... L if u spot it ............think ill keep it simple and whizz straight up as i live pretty near junction 5 ............C U There no doubt ;Adrien real nice silver Targa , rebuilt , on for sale DDK cud be Team Silver?

This new technology is getting too much now that they have a "40 mpg SPECS zone". Do you get busted for getting more or less than 40 mpg? I can't get better than about 30 mpg in my car, Vic is probably lucky to get into double figures [:D]. Next thing you know they will arrest us for not having much boot space!!

Bit slow on the uptake , tell me that was u in a starnge green car in the middle of Baker st this morning???? If not it must be an Oriental invasion ..............think it was u , confused by friendl face in unknown car , old people get mugged very easily !

Going up on Saturday.
I am taking both the 356`s.... Silver sc Cab and the white rally car. Taking the M40 as this is the nicest route, and both cars can cruise at over ????????? so the Cohen flyer will have some trouble overtaking!

Travelling at about 7.30-8.00 as both cars are on display.

Always knew u were good Paul , but driving both at once wow! Ur quite safe, i am using M1 in old car ,sure to see u there ..................

I never did find out whether the GT3 would fit in the garage with the bike. You will have to pop round one day to solve the riddle once and for all.

[:D] yeah, at the speed they keep you too, it's probably the only time I might eke out 40mpg! Sorry you can't make it - mark it up for next year.

Vic, bless - it seems time is taking its toll on you... you need to hand over at least one of the members of Team Orange (I'm not really fussy you know) to the Oriental invasion who will look after it with dirty-green-Honda Accord precision and reliability.[;)] Haven't you seen the ads? The Power of Dreams...[8D]
