Silverstone Classic - Driving down together

To all those staying overnight at the Northampton Travelodge on Saturday 27th July - do you fancy meeting up en route so we can all drive down together.
Possibly Saturday morning around M1 services?
Looking on Google Earth, there's lots of shops in the vicinity, with many eaterys.

We need to be on the club stand for 10.00 so I would suggest meeting at Woodall Services to leave at 7.30 which gives 2 hours to Silverstone which is about right. The queues should be ok then. Arriving any later means massive queues.

John, presume you're not going to the event on Saturday then? We're going down early doors as we are at the event on Saturday as well as Sunday. I think Jon and Karen were looking to meet up early to head to Silverstone for the event on Saturday too. Happy to meet up at Woodall but we'll be going early. Sounds like there might end up being 2 different convoys at different times of the day. M&L

No, we aren't going to the event on Saturday just Sunday but stopping over Saturday night. Possibly looking to meet up around lunchtime?

Chris and I are doing Silverstone Sat. & Sun. and staying over. So, I know I'm getting old, but I don't understand why we can't drive down together, hopefuly I'll find out on Wednesday at Mark's Steve [:)]

as know doubt you will recall there are also a group of us going down from North Wales and staying at the same Travelodge. Gill and I are travelling Friday afternoon, I think the others are going Saturday, one of our group had sold his 911 earlier this year and bought a Beemer, now he has bought another 911 ! Didn't want to miss out on the parade lap :) Still waiting for tickets (although they may have arrived whilst we are on holiday in Spain) Looking forward to the weekend, will have my GoPros ready, charged and mounted for what should be an amazing parade lap and awesome meeting

Steve this is the driving down Saturday morning for the event thread. I suspect John maybe on his own for not going to the event on Saturday. Tickets won't get sent out until the week or so before they never do.

Going down Sunday morning, hope to beat the traffic! I notice tickets are due to be sent out 7 - 21 July. Hope they're no later [&:] Paul.

Would be with you but am working in the Wing pit area looking after the Super Touring Car class and the E type Challenge for HSCC. If you are around come and have a talk. Andrew

Hi Andrew We'll be there on the Sunday so hope to get over to the Wing for a chat - long time no speak! Seem to remember we had to get a bus over there last time so let's hope there's transport again this year as I don't fancy walking it. By the way, we saw you in the 993 on Sunday in Middleton on the Wolds. You wouldn't have recognised us though, we were in the Golf, coming back from the Bridlington Soul Weekender!

Good to hear from you Ian, and look forward to seeing you both at Silverstone. Was on my way back from Chatsworth when you saw me. If we had known you were in Brid for the weekend we could have let you have one of our cottages - maybe next year. Andrew

ORIGINAL: drough Yes, up for an early morning on the Saturday - just say where and when!
See second post above, leave Woodall Services on M1 South at 7.30 Saturday morning. Set your alarm.

Hopefully everyone has received their tickets now. A reminder that we are meeting at Woodall services on the M1 in time to LEAVE at 7.30am sharp. This should see as at Silverstone for approximately 9.15 and dependant on queues hopefully straight in. For Sunday morning, Sivlerstone are saying that gates open at 8.00am and no more after 10.00am. Given that there are going to be over 1000 911s along plus the rest and other clubs trying to get on site, we should be there early! For those staying in the Travelodge it is about 10-15 drive to the ciruit and it looks to be set in a decent area, phew! So if we leave at 8.30 we should be parked up by 9.00 (hopefully). You should have got an email from Silverstone with final instructions for how the parade lap will be handled, if anyone didn't get, then it can be read [link=http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/page.cfm/EMSLinkClick=35_94_80_247275_12624_3321]online here![/link] See you all Saturday morning so set your alarm clocks!

Mark, how can we be there early on Sunday morning when we have been out on the lash on Saturday night? [:D]
