Hi,
Is anything planned for a display of our 964's at the Silverstone Classic on Friday 25th July? I will be coming along in my C4. Is there a club discount on tickets?
Thanks,
Steve.

Ah - funny you should mention this - I am just finalising this one - was waiting form one more piece of detail. Watch-out for a later message but, yes we will have a 964 display there.

There are 300 slots for the display area - as registrations go in the organisers will allocate space on a first come first serve basis but then apply some rules to make sure all registers etc are catered for in some proportion to their base etc. There is a buy one get one free offer for those in the display area...... (I am checking what on - car, people, etc.) otherwise it is the ticketed price. All tickets are via www.motion-works.com. Cars will need to be there by 09.30 and cannot leave until 4.30pm.

Thanks for offering I will add you name to the list - what day (days). I would like a minimum of 20 cars per day, so unless you are there all days we need 60 folks who want to be in the register area!

I hope to put a fuller message out tomorrow with more precise details.

OK - got the final info.

Plan
The plan is to get 20 cars min per day over the event - Fri25, Sat26 and Sun27 July. There is a Porsche Club display area holding 300 cars. The cars will be arranged in register etc order - details to be finalised - but maybe in model order. The area is at the woodcote corner area.

Club Offer

IF YOU BOOK AND HAVE YOUR PORSCHE IN THE DISPLAY AREA you get a "book one entry, get one entry free" ticket. You must quote SCPCGB and make sure the agent knows your Porsche will be in the display area. Note, once the display area is full, the offer does not apply anymore.

I just booked and was told the 3-day had a £5 off, not sure on the others. They then added a £1 booking fee. So for two adults, 3 squids and 2 cars (one in the display and one public) for the 3-day passes it cost me £51. This is a good deal I think.

So, please book asap if you want to take the offer up. Assuming you do PLEASE let me know your:

Car Model
Registration
Driver Name
Day or Days you will be in the DISPLAY area.
Note, you need to have the car there by 09.30 and not move it until 16.30. Final times to be confirmed but you get the idea.

See you there.

Alexander, thankyou for your post, first come first served as they say, the sooner members book , the sooner all register Sec will know which area is allocated infield for register parking and display cars.

Alexander,

I booked my 3 day pass back in March (cheap and with the club discount [:D] ) and was wondering about centre display parking.

Count me in if space available for Sunday, will also probably pop over Friday lunchtime to catch the afternoons action.

Moog! many thanks. I am waiting for the final selection of the 300 cars to see how many 964's have asked to be in - not all would have come to me. I suspect we are short so hopefully you can be part of the display field on the days you mention. I will add you to the list and then confrim once I have the final from the organisers.

Hi Alexander,

I've now found I'm ok to attend Saturday and would love to be in the display, if I'm not too late.

I don't seem to be able to get the motion works site to take me to the right place to get the offer, I suspect it may have finished.

Any chance you can direct me to wherever I can buy a ticket and get reserved for the 964 display please.

Many thanks,
Bob.

Steve,

Many thanks, all booked and still managed to get the £25.00 deal.

See you there,

Bob.

Alex,

Do you know if it will be a case of looking for the register parking on the day, or do you think it may be oversubscribed and have to allocate spaces?

Bob.

I have the list of folks so far that seem to be OK - but I don't know how many more slots there are. Best advice if you want to be in the register display area is to contact silverstone classic - details above in an earlier post - and then say you want to get offer for those displaying their cars in the Porsche club display area. As I understand it they will keep taking bookings until the area is filled for each of the 3 days. There are no specific quotas for any register although the Club will try to make sure they is a good mix of register attendance etc.

So if they are full for say saturday and you can display on the sunday and they have slots - then you can display on the sunday. Once the slots are filled then that is it - no more can be added unless folks drop-out. Of course you can still attend the classic but you won't have a park space in the display area.
