As I'm sure many of you have seen the advertising for the Silverstone Classic, which is the clubs main gathering for this year takes place 25th-27th July.

The club is celebrating 60 years of Porsche have requested that all registers try to provide a full range of the models within their register.
If you would like or be prepared to have your car on the central display then please contact Rob on the usual email to let him know.

You will still need to purchase tickets for the show as their is no dispensation to the club from Silverstone.... but they are still on BOGOF
Preference will be given to cars that are willing to attend on all days. (or if we really like you :p ) [;)]

*note. We are looking also for the Turbo models for within the 997 register as the 911 Turbo register seems to not want us....[:(]

We hope to see many if not all of you over the weekend.

Rob and Gary

I haven't had clarification on that Alex..
I'd of thought a fair representation of owners cars would be nice, however some purists may have other ideas [:(]
I'll have to ask to be sure..

However, than you for the offer..[:)]

Just a reminder that we are still looking for cars to represent the full 997 model range for the Silverstone Classic.
Parking is infield as part of the clubs display.

Gary,
I would be happy to make my car available subject to the delivery date and arrangement of transportation to the venue (it won't be road registered). I'll speak to the OPC to see what they can suggest.
Regards,
Clive

Rob and Gary,
As mentioned to Rob during the Cotswold drive, I signed up for the discount tickets for the Silverstone weekend a while back before the full details of displaying cars were posted so although not sure which day or possibly both I will be attending will be more than happy to display my C2S in the 997 area when I'm there.

Cheers

Paul

I'm sure that details will be firmed up shortly..

Our thanks to those who have offered to display their cars on the 997 section.[:)]

Hi all, am a newbie to the porsche scene. I am thinking of coming down on the 26th July at silverstone. I could show my basalt black 997 GT3 if you wish, pic of my car on zymol or not thread.

Where's the best place to purchase tickets and parking. Any advice will be welcome.

Thanks, Ravin

Guys and girls, just a reminder if you have booked tickets for the Silverstone Classic and wish to display your car within the main Porsche Club arena, do let Rob know in case the club office or the show organisers haven't picked you up

Gary I think I am on Robs list for the Sunday However no tickets from Silverstone yet ? the person who took my order said they would arrive mid to late June , has anyone had theirs yet ?

I believe that some people have started to get their main Silverstone tickets, however not the coat hanger to get you into the main display area, they will be along later..

Display cars should now be receiving their passes showing parking 4, which is the main clubs display area on the infield
Parking P is Porschestrasse where you will be parked alongside all the Porsche's (thats if you turn up in your Porsche[;)])

I will be there on Friday...

Having been at Silverstone today I thought I'd post some details for those displaying their cars..(those whom have a 4 pass)

Go to the main gates signposted "car clubs", straight over the first bridge in front of you and to the traffic island, straight over the traffic island- you will see the Porsche club area to your right just prior to the second bridge, take the right turn after the island and this will take you to the clubs display area.

The 997 display are is on the grass to your right as you enter the clubs area, you will be backing up to the wooden fence by the road.
As you cross onto the gravel turn right and (unless someone has removed the fence) you will need to drive up towards the concours area just before turning by the 356 and driving across the grass.

Hope this helps everyone find their positions a little easier.... and see you tomorrow if your there [:)] the cars practising today sounded awesome...[8D]

A great display of 997s at the show [:D]
The weather obviously helped (unless you were stood in it for 6hrs and no shade....[&:] )

Myself and Rob were on the gate into the Porsche display area on Friday and Saturday and had a great time meeting quite a few people..!!
Friday was a really good and colourful display, whilst on Saturday we nearly completed the whole display line we were given including 5 fellow Turbo owners.

We did get to look around the show in the afternoon and visit the Porsche centre which were both great benefits of the show..

So a big thank you to all those that displayed their cars over the weekends show [:)]
