Has anyone else got theirs yet? All information appears to be present and correct. The 'Car club infield display instructions' leaflet specifies that we 'must arrive at the venue before 9.30' - does this fit with your timings for the drive down Mark?
Also, what sort of insurance cover does everyone have for this event? On contacting my broker I was told that my insurance company (Groupama) doesn't cover me for track days even through I explained that it wasn't one (!), and I was quoted a premium of more than £90. Do the club offer any sort of discounted scheme?

Re arrival time, this fits with my plans. They do say this every year but it is not possible to get all the infield cars in place for 9.30 as there are too many and cars arrive all day.

If you are in the parade I understand that you DO need to be onsite for 9.30 on the Sunday morning.

In respect to insurance, the club doesn't offer any insurance schemes. You are right it is not a track day, it is a parade lap and I would expect that you should be covered, although it appears that most companies say no when asked. It seems that they don't understand the difference between a parade lap and a track day. Even if you have track day cover this might not come into effect as it is not a track day.

Your attitude to insurance is down to you and how you perceive the risk. The lap is going to be very slow behind a pace car at a maximum of 30mph and almost certainly considerably slower. Children are allowed into the cars and helmets are not required, hence you can guess that the organisors and Silverstone believe it to be a drive around an event that just happens to be on tarmac that sometimes is used for racing and driving at speed.

Personally I am not going to worry about it and just enjoy it with Daniel sat at my side waving to the crowds.

Note This is my personal opinion and not that of the club!

Had the email today so tickets on the way. Contacted our broker, they knew all about the parade lap, very relaxed about it, they said it's not a problem as it's arranged via PCGB, confirmation letter from insurer re temp trackday cover in the post, no extra charge - happy bunnies [:)]

Received our tickets today, note to self , must remember to put the towing eye in before the parade lap.

I think Im right in say ing we are staying at the same place, perhaps a group wake up call will be in order?

Thanks for the info Mark. My 'attitude to risk' is the same as yours! See you at 7.30 next Saturday morning.

Hi, just got home from hols and recieved our tickets but no actual ticket/voucher for the parade lap on Sunday. When booked all was verified and we were in ok, am I being paranoid or have you guys got more than us as paper work cheers Karen and Jon.

What you get for the parade lap is an indemnity form which you then exchange for wristbands on the day and a self cling plastic triangle showing the entry point to the circuit to stick on the windscreen. You should also have a grey sticker showing area 13 for the Porsche parking. If those are not in with your tickets then I think an e-mail to customercare@seetickets.com is in order.. assuming you booked using code C13911?

That said the 997 RS is in the same situation and having difficulty getting a reply - I imagine they are now inundated with e-mails now the tickets are landing on doormats!

Hi Jon,

I received tickets with Green Parade Lap sticker but NO sign on imdemnity sheet.....

I emailed them immediately & have received a rather poor quality attachment to print out....

However, there is only 5 days for them to address any issues given it is the weekend now!!

Hi, just contacted andy at customer relations he says I did not quote the parade lap code, why would I miss this off, booked travel lodge , show tickets and club stand pass, probablly just cancell, tottally disgusted, I will not see the next 50 year bash.

It does seem that they have quite a few mistakes this year several members have been brushed off on their first contact with customer service. It has only been the second call with a bit more insistence that has got results.

My Registration number has changed, evidently it was too late for amendments as cut off was 31st May even though they extended the 'deadline' & it was a further 6 weeks before ticket started being dispatched!!

However, I have an email saying that amendments can be made at the 'Welcome Centre' on arrival......

Got an answere from silverstone today saying that their computer would only accepct one book in code, so PCGB should have made this clear (sorry but my cristal ball batterys were out of charge) at time of booking going to speak to them on Monday. Only you would use the discount code for the 2 for 1 surely, oh well never book on the phone always email from now on.

Anyone know whether I can arrive in a different 911 from the one I registered with. Will it affect my ability to be part of the parade (94 993 C2 instead of 05 996 GT3). I know they are intending the parade being by decades.
Rob

Hi Rob,

see my previous post, I think if you make enquiries at the Welcome Centre they can make any amendments....
BUT I stand to be corrected!
