Silverstone Classic

My thanks go those PCGB members helped or assisted in what ever way to make us the largest club display of cars at the event. How nice it is to have a base to return to - rest you legs - and have a cup of tea/coffee and chat with friends old and new. Lets hope that when the new pits are built we still have access to pits area - the whole essence of the event for me - the sight and sound, talking to drivers and mechanics - three days of absolute magic! I'm now of the the Chiropodists![:D]

LO all, just wanted to say I couldnt get to the event until around mid day Sunday and tried to find the afore mentioned Fire engine bar with no success. I knew I had a couple of 944 folk's phone numbers and tried that but when I looked in my 'new' phone I had nothing but E-Mail contacts imported and was miffed. I even tried using the forum on my phone to get a number but it weas having none of it. After about 20 frustrating minutes walking round and asking people I realised it wasnt happening and gave up so apologies for not sharing a drink or a 'chapatti' etc, I was disapointed by my failure on that one. Regards Mas

Arriving also mid day Sunday, even having found the bar I didn't manage to spend much time at it. There was so much to cram in to the few hours I had (loved the freedom of the event to walk about the pits, gave it a really nice atmosphere and I got to push some amazing cars) but it made my visit to the group a bit of a fly by. Still nice to see everyone and a reasonable number of shiny 944s looking good in the line up amongst the more modern Porsche cars. p.s. not one black 993 turbo with ivory interior in the whole club, not even one 993 in black so far as I saw!!

Sorry you missed us Mas - we were there but its a massive area! Porsche and Polo? - Great family event Mike

Lo Mike, though P and P is not that far from me , it is a horrid route from mine and TBH I'm not sure I will go, I'm genuinely not sure at the mo. I will certainly be at Classics at the Castle though as its up the road from my house by 'country dweller' standards. Tis a while since I met you and I dont think I'd even recognise you without that nice car of yours to remind me [;)] Regards Mas

Where are you? It's only a couple of miles off the M40, so easy to access from pretty much anywhere on a motorway link either north-bound from Birmingham or south-bound from the M25. Also pretty easy to cut up from the M4 if you're from the south-west.

I thought you knew where I am , I'm just so forgettable lol Stanstead Airport ish , well in a backwater village about 9 miles hence Dont get me wrong I travel much much further for dog shows / car shows etc , its just that journey seems to take bloomin ages for so few miles. Its only 80 miles and it takes about 2 hours for some reason, a bit like Silverstone from me that miffs me that one [:(]

You are. [:D][:D] I understand the journey from near Stanstead. It's going to be endless motorway at best, roadworks making it worse. Still worth the effort though, there is a fun dog show so you could go home with a rosette. [;)]

I'll be making the trek over to PP for sure, its not the best journey across but hopefully early on a Sunday morning it will be possible to make "discrete progress"...
