i stayed at this place last weekend..real nice relaxed atmosphere.....great breakfast ....

..have a great weekend.....[;)]

I haven't been to the Porsche festival before. Is this year's do going to involve a track day on the Friday? And are the Saturday and Sunday schedules decided yet? It's my birthday that weekend I might try to persuade my GF that a weekend there is a good idea. But I think I would want to drive on track. So what's the score fellas? Anyone know? [:)]

john....think Paul H said in another post that there are plans afoot for track time either before or after the weekend, nothing has been finalised and apparently wouldn't be confirmed until May some time....

Really hope that they do sort it out.

There is a club trackday in the schedule for Monday 30th July at Silverstone.
As the festival is a shared weekend event, I would very much doubt there would be any chance to drive on track over the weekend, unless it is a parade/ display lap arrangement for selected cars.

The Monday trackday has been allocated to the pre-74 guys, no later cars allowed unless we can't make the 65 entries. Its up to 20 in 24 hours.

Deff no track day until the monday,i can ask steve if we can get first chance at the fill in places on the monday. As to get 65 older cars may be a little difficult,i think the rs register would mix well with the older cars.
Let me know how many are deff interested,i can then ask the question.

Paul - we've 25 confirmed now - and another 20 or so who are hovering - and that's within 48 hours!

The big appeal for the older car owners is having only slow(er) cars on track.

If we can't join in with our cars, maybe they need a few volunteers to walk in front waving the red flag? [:D]

No point we re all colour blind .................................as u can see by my taste in car colours !

Meeeoooow - what did we eat for breakfast - Whiskers? [:D] [;)]

Seriously - as you all know trackdays are great fun - but many Early 911, 356, 912 owners are put off from taking their first steps on track when there's much faster machinery, and more experienced drivers on the track.

And let's face it, for a seasoned trackday nut, there's nothing more frustrating than someone who's never been on track before, taking the wrong line and braking all over the place.

The idea is to run a once a year 'early' car day to enable more of these old cars to stretch their legs. Steve K's got plenty of dates on the calendar so there's enough to keep everyone happy [:)]

Only Joking, I would be interested to spectate, a grid full of early cars would be well worth seeing [:)]

Paul, sounds like you will just have to put up with a few a laps in my 906 then, straight pipes are a little noisey ear plugs will be usefull, we can fit mel in also.(one at a time)
Its good to see the take up on the early cars.
What about seeing if we can set up a coned driving challenge for the rs cars,on one of the big parks on the monday.Power slide roundabouts, wiggle cones, stopping distances etc.

Paul, your 906 would be incredible in that line up, with a few RS/RSR's along for good measure this could turn out to be quite a spectacle [:D]

Car park drifts could be fun.......a hosing down would be a nice touch to help break traction and preserve the tyres.
