Doing the whole camping thing probably going up Thurs evening like last year, not bringing any rain with me this year though.

Yes, I hope to be there. Booked for the 3 days and on the parade lap too. Just bought a new 32Gb card for the camera..... can't wait.

Awaiting tickets for sunday & the parade lap. Just about to ask the insurance company if they view it as a track day, or 'normal' driving - hopefully the latter!

I'm there for the Parade Lap and part of the Silver/Red 50th Anniversary display. Just hope the tickets arrive soon!

What sort of response has everyone had from their insurance company about the parade lap? I am insured with Groupama through Adrian Flux; apparently I am not covered as they view it as a 'track day' even though I have explained that it's not. I would need track day cover at just over £90!! Does anone know of any cheaper cover available, through the club perhaps?

The Silver/Red Anniversary display is a display of as many different models of 911 from the last 50 years as possible, where they must be either Red or Silver. Contact 996@porscheclubgb.com if you want to be part of it.

Having received the email below, I enquired today and was told that Admiral will not insure cars whilst on the parade lap, since they define simply being on the track as a 'track day' and they don't offer track day cover ... They did confirm however that I would be covered everywhere else whilst at Silverstone .... car parks etc!

Dear 911 Paraders

What a magnificent response we have had to our request to attempt 911 x 911 for the 50th Anniversary of such a legendary car!

We have surpassed that number and I write to you now to ensure that you have a wonderful experience on the day by confirming with your personal insurance providers that you will be adequately covered.   It's not a race, but a gathering of 911 Porsche's for one controlled lap of the Silverstone circuit.

Further details and instructions will be sent to you by email from the Silverstone agents as we draw closer to the date so please ensure you check your inbox [and Spam box!] regularly for any updates!

Tickets are still being dispatched by Silverstone Ticket Office so please be patient if they haven't reached you yet.

Kind regards

Karen

Got my tickets etc today!
Haven't yet checked with insurers, but I don't expect a problem as long as it's a Porsche Club GB arranged event/track day.
Which it is (isn't it?)

Still waiting for my tickets [:(]

I would imagine it is a Silverstone organised day Jon as opposed to PCGB but maybe someone else can confirm

...either way, just checked with Classicline, and I'm covered fully comp for the day - no extra charge. They're sending me a certificate today.
What a fine outfit.

Hi Jon,

that's good news, I'm about to phone them now, hope I get same result although i know they changed my underwriter this year......!

Received my tickets today but with previous registration & NO sign on sheet that is supposed to be enclosed that we need for parade lap!

*just made a quick call to Classi Line, yes you are covered, we've had several enquiries, paper work will be in post*

+1 for Classic Line then.....
