Anyone going down to this?

Am looking at doing Saturday and potentially joining the NE convoy if none of us are going.

My question is - what exactly is the situation re. parking/tickets. Comments on the forum are as clear as mud ( or is it me ?). There seems to be confusion re. in circuit/ dedicated parking and cost of tickets/discounts.

I have searched in vain for a clear message from Cornbury re. this, bearing in mind it is the 2008 National Event, or have I just missed it?

Any info. gratefully received.

We are going down and staying in the area Saturday/Sunday night. I would agree with you that details are slightly less transparent than mud. I booked right at the beginning and booked a full weekend pass and said I was displaying (??) the car, so bought one got one free.

I have absolutely no idea what this actually means in reallity or any idea whether this means that there is specific club parking and then just generall publi parking.

As you say, given that this is supposed to be the National event, the lack of detail is somewhat shocking. Personally as long as we get to park up next to a load of other porsches and we are free to come and go, I don't really care. But it would be nice to have some hint at what the club thought might be happen, after all it's only a 6oth anniversry.

Sharon and I have booked to go to Silverstone. My understanding was that tickets had to be booked before the end of March (which ours were) to qualify for the buy one get one free deal. However, as I remember, this deal only applied if you were displaying your car. What 'displaying' actually means is not clear- it could mean a formal concours type display or just parking in the same place as a load of other Porsches. I think most people seem to have interpreted it to mean the latter and just plan to park their cars together in the dedicated parking area. Agreed more clarity from Club Office / Silverstone would have helped.

We haven't got the tickets yet so I can't be absoluetly certain that what I think is going to happen will actually happen. We haven't booked any accommodation yet either so need to get that sorted out too.
 
Hi Folks. let us know what you are doing, if a few of you are going down on the Saturday it would be good to meet up and go down in convoy from 'Up north!'
