Sim card compatibility

Hey Guys,

I have a 996 Turbo S, it has the slot for sim cards so I thought it would be a good idea to have my provider send out a pay as you go sim to just have one in the car to make use of its in car phone system.... didn't work, is this compatibility issues between todays '3G' style sim cards to the pre 2005 system installed in the car?

I have the same car as you and mine hasn't got the telephone module even though it has the drawer for the SIM card in the PCM unit. Worth checking if you have the telephone module fitted as it was an optional extra.
It will be shown on the VIL in the service book, I think its code 666

Thanks Ash - you have solved an issue that has been bugging me for 4 years ! - I have 665 but not 666 !

Chris
