Simple fix for Rev Counter?

Tizzy

New member
finally got my 2.7 back from extensive bodywork (read new Sills) and a lot of mechanical work, well carried out by Cavendish Porsche in Nottingham. However the Rev counter isn’t working. Before i start thinking about pulling the clocks out is there an easier possible fix?

Many thanks

Was it working before? If so yes could be their fault, chances are they would deny it! Could also be a coincidence. My wastegate stopped working after my exhaust was removed to do a job. Was thinking it must be related.....it wasn't! Diaphragm had perished due to some internal corrosion and just happened to coincide with the work done! Also had a snapped gearbox oil cooler soon after somewhere replaced an o ring on it. Did they contribute to the failure? Impossible to prove and probably another coincidence! Just fix it yourself actually!!!!

Engine didn’t run due to fuel leak so we don’t know if it was working before. All the rest of the instruments are working fine, so just wondered where the Rev counter drive comes from? Haynes manual is pretty useless in this respect as it’s on an earlier non oval dash car.
