Simple message to teen learner drivers...

I think all "learner drivers" teens especially should have to watch films like this as part of the course.

"Carefree 17-year-old Cassie Cowan bunks off work with friend Emma to cheer up Jules, who has found herself pregnant and dumped. Their simple car journey becomes a nightmare when distracted Cassie drives into oncoming traffic, with horrendous consequences."

hm...

I've just bought a Transit [8|] (long story for another thread...) but the consequence is I can now see a lot more of what's going on inside other people's cars. Texting. Folk are bored driving on the motorway. Can't do any harm texting my mates while sitting here in a line of cars at 70 in middle lane....

I have found they do drop the phone if you blast the horn at them.

Lets be honest some adults leave a lot to be desired too

I had a guy behind me on roads which varied from 30mph local road, 50 MPH express way to M8 through centre of Glasgow Through 7 sets of traffic light most of which we stopped at who sat with phone clamped to his ear for easily 10+ mins.

Was still chatting away sitting in overtking lane when I turned off W####r

And walking through Glasgow from work is a nightmare with folk oblivious to pedestrians as they chat away

Hi Dougie,
Agreed - although I have less problem with people on the phone than I do with people texting. When on the phone they generally do look out the front of the car while talking!

I was down south last weekend and the problem seems worse there.

It probably is - don't know why they bother having a law against it - these people are oblivious to their own safety and the consequences it might bring[8|]. Oh, and they're usually driving about 6 inches from your rear, too[].

Agreed... My nephew now drives & I trust he is uber responsible (judging from his general nature), but as the film shows it only takes one idiot. I will be having a word with him just to make sure the message is loud and clear, just to be sure.

I suspect should these offenders drop the phone they would probably try to pick it up again, even if they were travelling at 70mph.
