I did try and get him to join PCGB.......honest!!!
What a fantastic gentleman, he was intriging to chat and listen to.
And for all you Nurburgring enthusiasts, I asked him what his
quickest lap time was.....6mins 43ish!!!

Meeting Sir Jackie is the highlight of my year so far!!!

You know he was King of the Ring Kim?

Finished one race 2 minutes in front of 2nd place man.

Only Stefan Bellof got close to his performance.

There is a good book "Kings of the Nurburgring" with all the stories.

I would love a signed copy........... Did you get his number?

I wish Mark!!! It was a Master Class at a University in Glasgow which my friend organised and he (my friend) kindly invited me along as he knows I'm a big fan of F1. JS was guest speaker and talked for about 1 and a half hours, and was thoroughly entertaining, quite funny and very intelligent although he did put himself down because of his dyslexia. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time so got a 10 minute chat, photos and an old Silverstone F1 program autographed by him.

It was funny, we bumped into each again when I was leaving, and I said to him that he must think I'm a stalker to which his witty reply was ' I haven't had a pretty girl stalk me in years'!!!!!

Charles, didn't realise he was 'King of the Ring'!!! I only knew that he got racing stopped there because of safely issues.......and got hate mail and death threats for doing so!!!!

Another interesting fact, did you know he sold his F1 team (which was only 4 years old) 1 year to set up, 3 years racing for £135 million and the company who bought it sold it 2 years later for only $2 million dollars!!! Shows you how good a business man he is, dyslexic or not.

You are one lucky person. He was in Aberdeen to do a talk when his Autobiography was released a couple of years ago, unfortunately I was offshore so missed it. That would be not just a highlight of my year, it'd be the decade for me.
 
I met him briefly in November, funnily enough when he was receiving an Honorary Degree from St.Andrews University. He was very self deprecating about his dyslexia. I had always thought that he looked a bit of a miserable bugger, great driver or not, but was soon put right on that. A very polite, funny man. Legend certainly.
