Size of screws in airbox?

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone happens to know the size of the screws that hold the airbox top down? The two at the front of mine are rusted. I know the part number is 944 110 225 00 - combination screw, but I just want to pick up a bag of screws from Toolstation or similar on the way home, not wait for them to be posted out by Porsche... And I can't measure the screw as I'm at work! Can I use a stainless steel screw here to avoid further rusting, or might it react with the metal it screws into and cause further problems?

Thanks.

Would be no worse with SS than mild

The problem is the brass nut-sert moulded in the lower housing. The knurled outer of the brass is not grippy enough to prevent it turning at low torques.

For sure some mechanic has overtightened them at some point in the past [8|]

FWIW I usually hold the plastic around the lower nut-sert gently with a thin nose mole grip

That is enough to prevent it turning, but basically its a rubbish design

Thank you George.

Yes, I've had trouble with them on several occasions, including having to take out the whole airbox mounting in order to get a dremel onto the head of a buried screw. I'll get some SS screws, and a pair of thin nosed mole grips!
