Ski Racks and Roof Bars

Not seasonal I know but I've just got a set of roof bars and want to find a good ski rack to fit, anyone have any recommendations?

Any of the Thule ones should work. You might want to get a box you can put the skis inside - I have a Thule 900 which I used to use with my 997

Checked out the Thule 800 & 900 they seem pretty good a bit more than I can manage at present but they tick all the boxes better than racks too and keep skis and other kit clean. Thanks[:)]

I think I paid about £500 for mine from halfords of all places. They had some offer on plus cashback from quidco made them by far the cheapest place. The silver ones occasionally crop up cheap on eBay but the black look much better. My 997 was atlas grey too. It looked kind of odd with a (large) roof box on but it meant we could do a ski trip in the C4S not the Volvo! A cayman might be a bit more challenging but with the right tyres it'd be fun to give it a go.

The 800 is long enough for the Volkl 4 Star Carver Skis I would need to get a 900 if I were to get my old Volkl Tigers out. I'll do some shopping around and of course look on Fleabay. Does look better to use a box than a rack. Cheers[:D] Just thought that due to the rear bar being really close to front edge of hatch I'll revert to the rack idea at least it's quicker to take skis out of a rack then a box off the bars.[8|] So I'll be looking for a lockable rack and maybe adaptors to fit to the Porsche Bars. Always good to get an opinion and to consider before buying.

I got a set of Porsche ski racks off Ebay but they arrived without keys! Anyway after a little preamble contacting the seller and finding a lock/key supplier I did get new locks and keys so all sorted in the end. If anyone needs rack locks etc look on Ebay for daviesd675 the guy is very helpful and for less than half the price of a key from Mont Blanc I got two new Thule locks and keys, fitted in minutes and work perfectly.[;)][;)]
