John,

You rang Sandra today. Apologies for the delay - cheque on its way - Mushroom & Apple Pie for her, Duck (Starter) and Fish Pie for me. Wont be in the Porsche 31st - I take it in for repair that day. A visitor to our neighbours didn't put her handbrake on (and why do people not use first gear when parking on a hill?!). The car, though damaged, at least prevented Sandra from being seriously crushed as she was cleaning her car on the drive and in direct line with the runaway. Thankfully its just a rear bumper and No plate. It will mend.

John, Thanks for message. Our choice is:

One starter :Crispy Teriyaki duck on a bed of mixed leaves with toasted sesame seeds.
Main Courses
2 x Pan seared chicken breast, smoked bacon and sauté potatoes on a bed of rocket.
One sweet: chocolate fudge cake.
Robert

Hi Graham,

Years ago I had a Rover 90. One Christma Eve, I went to fetch the turkey, turned across a wide frontage to enter the car park, to find a car coming through the entrance towards me. Plenty of room to pass, so I waited for them to come out. A man was inside , moving, so I did nothing, assuming he would drive out past me. Amazingly, the car kept coming until it hit me, damaging my near side wing and headlight.

Furious, I got out and opened the door of the other car and asked him what the devil he was doing. Then, I realised I had opened the passenger door. There was a little dog inside jumping about, the man was sat in the passenger seat and blind, not knowing what was happening. His wife was in the shop and came out. When I asked her why she did not put on the handbrake, she replied it was not necessary as it was an automatic and she had left it in 'Park' ! It seemed, the dog had knocked it out. They paid for the repair without trouble.

Yes, why don't they put their brakes on as well as in gear, auto or otherwise ?.............Regards...John

Hi John,

my cheque is in the post along with my menu choices.

See you Tuesday next.

Regards, David
