Slick 50 & Flat Batteries

Anyone tried 'Slick 50' in their engine ?
I've used it before, but not in a Porsche engine and found start up / response is improved.
Could it cause problems in a 944 2.5 ?
I'm not using the 944 too much, just weekends and holidays.....so starting from cold might need some assistance..
Also any one found a good battery cut off device to save 'flat' batteries ??
Any advise would be welcome.

If using your car sporadically I would recommend keeping the battery connected to a battery conditioner. I have the one from www.carcoon.co.uk which costs around £40 and keeps the battery in top condition. I just unplug it when driving off.

I used Slick50 in an old knackered Renault about 18 years ago and it did improve the MPG and make the engine quieter. This was a knackered car though and I think these days any good oil will be better than a cr4p oil with aftermarket additives
 
If its stored outside you could consider a solar charger, some titanic listers were full of praise for them a year or so back,

I have a solar charger somehwere - it was useless in the winter last year trying to keep the cab's battery topped up. In the end I spent £30 or £40 (I forget) on Halford's top of the line charger which has an automatic maintenance mode to stay permanently connected to the battery and keep it topped up. I had it in the boot with a cable running out into the garage - just remember to unplug it before you drive off.

This year I'm just using the car instead. [;)]
 
Just ordered a battery isolator for safety.

I had a meltdown under the dash and it scared the s**t out of me as it continued with the ignition off and fuses did not blow!!!

I will say why in a new thread when I have more time.

The isolator is just a big switch on the battery terminal but they do one with a bypass fuse for clock,radio and alarms

Will post a photo when I have tried it.
