Slight knocking noise from rear suspension

Any ideas of common problems? Noticeable at slow speed over rough roads not very noisy but does not sound normal??

Thanks

Most likely culprit is one of the anti-roll bar drop links, which is a very common cause of knocking on rough surfaces.

They are easy enough to check if you can get the car up in the air. Just undo the lower end, and you can feel if it has any play.

Thanks Richard.

This was my first item to check as I have receipts for the front drop links being changed before I owned the car but no history of the rear ones being changed.

Any other likely culprits? I would check tonight but its freezing outside in the garage.

thanks

Rear ARB bushes can produce a knocking noise when they get worn. Not so easy to check without actually removing them but they should firm (ie. not perished) & not look deformed. Easy & cheap to change once the car is in the air.

The drop links are fine, no play but the ARB bushes look old and not a very tight fit in the housing. Difficult to judge really but think I will just order some new ones and see if they make any difference.
