Slim has left the building

Time to move on i guess, short f a lottery win i doubt i will be back in a Porsche again, and even then i fear an F430 would be further up the list [:D]

The car is going donw to Londan, bought by a guy who has previously owned one.

He is getting a very nice car with way too much money spent on it. The money should cover my credit card bill and get me back to zero again. [8|]

Cheers

Congratulations on breaking free 'boy fat. May your motoring be ecconomical and your credit card bills small. I trust you created a spread sheet of 944 expenditure before you let all the bills go, just so you have something to look at should you ever consider buying another one. The rest of us have a nice heap of bills for our history files and never dare to add them all up. [] Just think how easy it will be to get insurance as well. [;)]

All the best on the forthcoming screaming money pit. I recommend that, prior to arrival, you develop the abillity to sleep through anything, this will stand you in good stead. Additionally, breast feeding is the only way to go 'cos blokes can't do it at four o'clock in the morning [:D].

I'd like to echo what others have said; nice to see you've sold it since you wanted/needed to; less nice to see you leave the fold. Don't be a stranger though.

Cheers guys, managed to sooth the pain with th epurchase of a BMW 530i Auto 1994 i owner full BMW history minter, leather, dule zone climate, 5 speed auto box etc etc. . Yes its the v8 one. Wife is over the moon as its going to be her car.

Taxed for a year Mot for nearly a year.....

Drives very nice.

The Beemer sounds nice - I'd have gone for a Touring myself but then I have a thing for estates. '94 is the model before the one that was just replaced? Don't know the E number - E39?

At least you live far enough away that you shouldn't be cluttering up the Ace Cafe on the last Monday of each month. [:D]

We are trying to ensure little Peter doesn't get too many E numbers. What sort of action is this for a father-to-be?

I thought only the 535 was a V8 ? Am I getting mixed up (haven't been on a web search to check [:)]

Auto though = old codger. [;)]

edit to say that I've now been to check [&:] and I misunderestimated slims ability to count to 8 [;)] . Sounds nice stephen, and I bet it ....erm..... sounds nice [8D]

Old 535i was a 6-cyl 12v version of the famous 24v engine in the M1, and later on the M635csi, and M5 (E28).

The newer 3.0 , and 4.0 litre V8's replaced these engines late on the the E34's life - hence their rarity (although they figured highly in the 7-Series of that time). IIRC, the 3.0 litre V8 had the same power output as the old 12v 3.5 6 cyl.

Probably the only time I will ever get to teach something to Fen and Mick in the same thread[:D]

Yes you are correct there, on all counts. I had a 535i and it was a right animal.... And don't think for a moment that the BM magazines aren't filled with lovely 'up grades' to empty the bank account. 19 inch Alpina wheels for starters....
