I've suffered from a sloppy gear change, making 2nd from 3rd impossible in a hurry, I always believed it to be a problem of the gubbins on top of the gearbox.
So now I've got the whole car 2ft off the deck and crawled around and taken the the gubbins off:
There's a tiny amount of play in the nylon joint but very minor, am I looking in the wrong place?
Should I just put it back?
How much play can be tolerated?
Ideas please
