sloppy gear linkage

When I go from neutral to first, sometimes it doesn't seem to want to go in properly. Is this likly to be the linkage? It a 986 boxster s, that's done 100k miles. Ta. :)
 
In my experience there is greater resistance going into first gear when the gearbox is cold but this eases off once everything warms through.
 
I had a similar issue last year and had the linkage sprayed lubricant at the back where it connects to the gearbox. This improved things for a while. That said after time the linkage was so bad I struggled to get the car only into 2nd and 4th. The linkage was shot so that was replaced by a Porsche Breaker who had the bits in second hand. Works fine now. Cost be circa £65 for the linkage and a couple of hundred to put in, its a fiddly job.

Runs great now.
