Hi,

Can anyone help me, my digital clock is losing time at around 1/2 hour per day. Has anyone else had this and how can it be recified?

Thanks

Steven,

The clock does not 'tick' when the power is disconnected, but does remember the last time (so you know how long a battery change takes [;)]). If your clock is loosing time, there may be an intermittent contact somewhere in the supply to it.

HTH,

Jim.

Hi Steven

I had the same problem. Remedy= new clock . Very very expensive. Previously Owned(second hand from a breakers to you and me) circa £50 -£60[:(]

It should be easy to find a working clock with a broken display, or alternatively someone (me?) would give you a few quid for the display from your slow clock to resurrect their broken display one.

There was a thread about repairing the clock on rennlist last week. There was a guy who was going to source the parts required for a fix. If something comes of it, I'll crosspost it here.

I saw that also. I think he was suggesting that it was (with his background) easy to make lcd clocks for our cars with whatever you wanted them to read and layout/colour (as in white against black, I think) very cheaply. Worth keeping an eye out, for those who has ceased to be.

might work out cheaper to wear a watch instead!

Hi all,

Thanks for all your comments, I am waiting to find a spare hour or two to check this problem out and see if there is a simple explaination for the fault. It has only started to do this since it got stuck in a heavy downpour (car also gave up on me for about a week before it dried out) so it may just need drying out and a spay of WD40.

I will keep you posted.

Regards

steven
