Slow PCM Boot up

My 2019 992 has PCM5.0 and over the last 6-9 months boot up had increased to a consistent and painfully slow (to me) 65 seconds. In addition it would take a similar time to come up with a 40 mile route to Bicester.

i booked it in to Tewkesbury OPC, and they reported back that they could not find a problem, boot up was taking the "normal" 15-20 seconds, and navigation was normal too. They did say that it might be down to a poor signal, but had tried a known dead spot in the workshop and it was still ok. initial feedback was that they had done nothing else.

i have been monitoring the behaviour for the last 10 days and it appears to be back to normal normal. I have done a factory reset, which was quite easy and retained (to my surprise) all the favourites, but this was after I was getting normal results. Having been on a couple of European trips in the last two months I had a large number of favourites, but, having deleted most, am seeing no difference.

I have asked whether the OPC did a hard reboot (or similar) and await the reply. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Welcome to the poor quality Porsche PCM !!

My last 992 MY 2021 seemed to take forever to boot up (over a minute, sometime 2) but when your waiting it does seem longer. The sports exhaust would not switch on (no light) until the exhaust had warmed up after 3 -5 minutes or at least a mile. It was so frustrating.

My current 992 (MY2022) take a lot less time, only 15 - 20 seconds to boot up the PCM. After start up I select the sports exhaust and the switch shows its on, but then there is the dreaded wait for the emissions filter to kick in after 2 - 3 minutes or maybe half a mile if driven.

My wife's BMW 4 series PCM is instant!
