Well I've had LIL back home for just over two months now and have covered another 1500 miles which makes a total of 7500 since the new engine went in. I have slowly been ticking off items on the long list to get her back to the same condition she was in before my little argument with the crash barriers. Those of you at the 'Northern Ace Cafe' this week will have seen her still missing a nearside rear mirror but thanks to the generosity of MarkK I can now reveal the first picture of her wearing her new cup mirrors [8D]
As you can see they are still painted black from MarkKs 'other' Turbo, but now that they are fitted I am really toying with the idea of leaving them black to match the wheels (and handles, and spoiler etc) and at some point I may fit one of the ESS front spoilers and leave that black also. Your thoughts please?
Next on the list is to refit the under sill skirts, the engine undertrays and then fix the oil pressure sender and wideband sensor.
Good news to report after the 320 mile round trip to the 'Northern Ace' is that my clutch does not seem to be slipping at 4000rpm anymore at my mid boost setting of 15psi, I'm wondering if it had somehow glazed over during it;s time at the bodyshop [&:] Next thing is to test it at 18psi and see what happens. If it does still slip my next step is to tune the Greddy boost controller to hit 15psi and then gradually creep up to 18psi by the redline and hopefully reduce the mammoth torque it currently gets at 4000rpm and irradicate the slip.
I still don't think I can afford to track her this year (but if I do, the 13th October Donington with the guys looks tempting [8D])
