Sludge - should I worry?

Had my C2S for 14 months and 9000 glorious miles.

Apart from minor teething problems I have had a blast.

Ever the car maintenance freak I nearly always wait for the oil level before starting daily. it's not needed any oil so far. The last service was about 9 months ago and the oil level reached a point where it was telling me it needed oil last week.

On opening the lid there is an orange sludge. I have topped up, no problems and all is well.

Anything else I should be doing? Service due in 2 months

Condensation within the filler pipe tube . which as discoloured the oil around the neck, its common on most. 930 993 996 997, dont know on the boxster.

I believe the way to prevent this is to avoid short-runs and make sure the oil reaches 100C + for a few miles to drive off any moisture.

As pointed out its a common feature on nearly all Porsches in fact nearly all cars.
Snarf correctly pointed out the main culprit for it..

Nothing to worry about, the worry is when the same colour is in the water!! [:'(]
