Sluggish gearbox, advice please

I have just bought a 23k mile gen 2, S with PDK . when I start her up and engage forward, and most notably reverse, from stand still it seems rather sluggish and needs to be revved a little bit to get it to engage and move. Is this normal?
 
I have a 987 Spyder (i.e. 987 Gen 2) PDK . It depends what you mean by rev a little bit. I do have to rev slightly to get movement.

 
Thanks. My bench mark is my 2007 4.4 V8 discovery 3 auto, which engages smoothly and creeps away from standstill with no revs or jerk. so I was surprised that I need to rev the Boxster a bit to get it to engage and move, this is most notable when cold, and in reverse, and is more pronounced when a slight upward slope is involved. I just wanted to know if this is a normal characturistic of a PDK Boxster, or if something is on its way out, and I need to start saving my pennies for an impending bill.

 
My 981 PDK Boxster is similar, particularly when cold. After reversing out of the garage my car is facing up a slight hill; typically the hill hold function engages after I stop to shift out of R, which increases the slight jerk when starting forwards. Presumably the Discovery had a torque converter transmission vs the twin clutch of the PDK - torque converters typically have a completely fluid drive at very low speed which is why they seem seamless; I don't know if the Discovery brakes have hill hold or not.
 
The twin clutch DSG system on my Audi creeps at tick over, but only after about six seconds when the "hill hold" disengages, otherwise you have to apply a little throttle to overcome the HH system, does the PDK have such a hold system?
