Small Button on my 2005 997 PCM

I have read many posts regarding the two main knobs but no one seems to have posted about the small buttons circled in red below.

I have two buttons that are loose and will come out. PO has used blue tack to hold in and they do function but I would like to solve this properly. Any ideas?

Also, sim card does not work and is not recognised even though the sim drawer mechanism works.

Kind regards,

Nick

Hi!

Firstly, the SIM card - have you definitely got the Phone module installed? If you press 'Tel' and you get an error, then it's not installed.
That said, PCM only recognises either o2 or Vodafone SIMs. I've just used an o2 PAYG SIM so the missus can at least call me, otherwise I don't use the phone at all while driving.

Buttons - I've not heard this before either, but it could be that the tiny tabs which lock the button in place are broken. Insofar as I'm aware you can get replacement buttons individually from Porsche, so it could be an east fix.

The phone module is installed according to the build letter from Porsche. When you press the phone button the message reads sim not installed.

I've tried a bt sim and a vodafone sim and both do not work.

I will contact my local porscge garage regarding the PCM buttons.

Kind regards,

Nick
