Smaller steering wheel

I'm thinking of getting a slightly smaller wheel (partly to preserve the original) possibly with quick release facility for added security.

Any suggestions?

Momo Mod 07 - same as my car and also the same as 993GT2, 964Cup and most every factory race car since the mid 80s. Brings the wheel usefully closer making the stalks and dash less in the way for track days. I have thought of adding the Snap-on boss as well, which would make it more or less like Vic's GT2.

Thanks Richard - good starting point.

I'm not sure I would want to have the wheel much closer to me than standard in relation to the pedals, as with my short legs I have to have the seat fairly far forward. I think I'll go for something very similar with a "flat" cross section. Maybe the Momo Model 78

I could do you a good one forless than your £88.00 fashioned from a Mk 1 escort wheel, rim cut off and replaced with some wire coathangers wrapped reasonably neatly with bodgin' tape....

Would be a 20 foot beauty!

I put a nice 13" Mota-Lita wheel on mine (Mk 4 slightly dished with holes in the spokes). Blocks visibility of some instruments (e.g. speedo) and I needed to add extra packing to the boss to bring it out far enough so that it wasn't too close to the dash such that your hand hits the dash).

Proper job, good old eBay is right. Andy B (Lightweight_911) does the Momo Porsche horn buttons if you are that way inclined [;)]
