Smilies

Sorry to get all technical again, but why won't smilies appear in my posts??

I've got them turned on in my profile, but they don't appear on the forum.

I'm concerned that you aren't getting the full range of my emotions!

This could have included four little faces....

I have no idea. Perhaps the computer considers you have all of the emotional portrayal of Roger Moore (Why does that sound like the name of a porn star these days [:D])

Do you get the smileys down the left hand side of the window when you compose your message?

Yep, and I can drag them across to my posts. Then they disappear....

Very frustrating!

And they've let this man loose with the Register Database? I only hope HQ has plenty of copies of the original

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

This is how I interpret them:

[:)] happy/ proud
[:D] giggle
[8D] yummy
[;)] wink
[&:] confused
[] angry
[:(] sad
[:'(] yuck
[>:] frown
[] shocked
[X(] crying
[:-] sshhhh
[8|] rolleyes
[&o] turbo envy
[sm=kiss.gif] kissy
:ROFLMAO: laughing
 rolleyes
:p big turbo

You might have noticed one or two flippant ones purely for Oli's benefit [;)]

what are the shortcuts for them as ;) etc dosent seem to work, can you only click on them to the left?

Mr Smith is, as usual, right in all things.

To reinforce his rightness, I have inserted his true understanding of the meaning of the smilies. It's really pretty simple to understand.

ORIGINAL: Diver944

This is what they really mean:

[:)] The S2 is better than the turbo
[:D] The S2 is much better than the turbo
[8D] The S2 is better than the turbo
[;)] Hey, my S2 is better than your turbo!
[&:] confused about how the S2 is better than the turbo
[] angry about the inferiority of the turbo
[:(] sad about my choice of a turbo - I should have got an S2
[:'(] yuck - it's a turbo!
[>:] frown - I need to sell that expensive old turbo and by myself a nice S2
[] shocked at how much better an S2 is than a turbo as a daily driver!
[X(] crying about the weather
[:-] sshhhh - I stuck S2 badges on my Turbo, but don't tell everyone!
[8|] rolleyes - it's another intelligent S2 owner!
[&o] S2 envy
[sm=kiss.gif] kissy (why you need this on a 944 forum populated almost entirely by blokes is beyond me!)
:ROFLMAO: The S2 is better than the turbo
 The S2 is better than the turbo
:p big turbo - should have bought an S2 instead.
