Smokey exhausts

I notice unlike my 2s, my turbo is pretty smoky on start up, one side being a bit more than the other. There isnt a hint of it after the first few seconds but it doesnt seem right. I will raise it with the OPC as its only 6 months old so no issues I guess if its something serious becuase of the warranty but has anyone else come across this at all?

grover, mine did exactly the same yesterday, one of the traits of the car..
Not sure why the TT does it more than your previous C2 did, but its part of the experience..

Not that it makes it any easier when it smokes and your friends are watching...[]

All the turbos do this. The last 996 turbo i had did it.Its something to do with where the oil sits in the turbos, i think. It doesnt do it all the time, like Gary says, it will only do it when you are showing sombody the car, or if you have an audience oogling your pride and joy, regards, SIMON.[:D]

My C2 is smoky on start up particularly if I have not used the car for a few days. My OPC say it is normal given the design of the engine layout and I am certainly not using much oil. Worth getting it checked out though.

I have spoken with the OPC now and they say that its possibly got too much oil in and to check that, but that its normal as well!!!

It's not a turbo peculiarity it's the Porsche flat six that likes to embarass you in front of the neighbours.

My turbo smokes on cold start up as well, more on the left (passenger) side. Ten days after delivery I suffered an oil leak (enough to be noticed on my garage floor) on that side which was diagnosed as faulty "O" rings which were replaced but the car still is smoky although oil consumption is now stable.
