Help, my 2.7 Boxster smokes realy bad, if goes away after being driven and has warmed up but when you stop and start it again later it smokes again. When i parked it up on the drive yesterday oil started to leak for under the car just in front of the rear nearside (passenger) side wheel, this is the first time it has happend and is very worrying. Cant use car until i have fixed it so Any idears would be helpful,

Thanks

Ian

Oil on the nearside would not be the Air Oil seperator as this is located on the off side.
However it is likely to be a plug tube seal - common issue but cheap and easy to fix.

The smoking - well this could be that the car is parked on an incline (left to right), Does the car smoke on every start irrespective of whether the engine is hot or cold, and does it do it anywhere you are parked - or just your driveway.

I park it on my dive which is steep, the smoking has got realy bad over the last 2 days, i would say that it dose not smoke so much when it is parked on the flat, if it is the bung you mention how do i fix it?

Thanks for the feed back

I have taken out the air filter and i can see oil in the air intake popiwork which is dripping through an outlet at the bottom

I'm no big expert but I am pretty sure there shouldn't be oil in the intake system unless it's found a way through something broken.

I have pmd you a reply to your pm

The oil tubes fit underneath the coils, You take the coils of to remove the spark plug, Where the plug is this is encased in a plastic tube, both ends of this tube has a rubber seal, when the seals leak it is quite obvious, have a look under the car and see which tube (take that as ignition coil) the oil is leaking from

will be surprised if its anything else but this.

Never changed a tube before so i cant comment on how difficult a job it is

Thanks for all the replies, Glen Griffiths came up with the Air/Oil seperator and sent me some very helpfull advice, I ordered the part from porsche Tonbridge and they delivered it to my house, took me one and a half hours to fit started the car and it smoked a little, just what was left in the system and is now all OK, NO SMOKE fantastic. The car runs better than it ever did, so again a BIG Thank You to every one
