Just a final push with less than a week to go!

As noted elsewhere, I (among many others) will be taking passengers around Snetterton racing circuit on the 22nd & 23rd of November as part of the British Heart Foundation Charity Weekend.

There will be a great varriety of cars taking part, ranging from all out racing saloons and light weight sports cars to full monty Super Cars. Although driving duties are restricted to those with race liecences or those with significant experience of Snetterton you can still assist.

As I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss out on an oppertunity to support this most worth while charity, I am propossing that, on the Sunday, we assemble a display of Porsches in the paddock to provide further interest to the punters.

All types are very welcome, and it will give a chance for a final gathereing (in the daylight) before winter realy sets in. Whilst I can't arrange free admission, it is for charity so you will be helping twice over. You might even like to consider having a ride round the circuit. I would be honoured to take you.

Please either note your interest herewith, or contact me off forum, in order that I can get some idea of numbers and to make final arrangements.

Thanking you in anticipation of your support.

I hope to be there - but will be on call so might have to cancel at the last minute, If I make it you can show me how a 944 should be driven!

I wouldn't be so presumtiuous to think I could show you anything Tony, but it woud be a grin to see if we could scare both of us.

If nothing else you can show me which way the bends go as I have never ventured to snetterton before [:D] - there is always more to learn anyway.

Great News!!!

Thanks brolsch1, I echo that and many thanks to those who turned up.

I have taken the liberty of adding further comment to your post in the GT3 register zone - I hope you don't feel I was being too cutting. [;)]

Great pictures Tony, thanks again.

You didn't happen to spot at which point my tail pipe fell off did you? I thought it was sounding a bit throatier than usual []

Twin tail pipe on order from Simon now [:)]

It's amazing how much loude they are with no tailpipe, isn't it?

You're not wrong. You wouldn't think that 12" of otherwise ordinary pipe would make so much difference.

Having considered all the options an Essential Styling/Janspeed oval jobbie is en route and should be fitted on Saturday. I did think about the twin pipe version but concluded that the open oval must sound closer to having no tail pipe [;)]

Sorry to hear about your tailpipe John. Do you mean just the bit that sticks out of the rear box, or the whole rear box? I find it surprising that just the tailpipe would increase the noise. [:-]

Mine is close to rusting through and I keep giving it a wiggle so that SWMBO will then see the change to an Essential Styling one purely as essential repairs [;)]

Hi Paul,

Do you mean just the bit that sticks out of the rear box, or the whole rear box?

Just the bit from the box backwards - the box is still there. What is even more anoying is that I sprayed the back of the back box, only the week earlier as the paint was flaking and looked unsightly []

I did think the pipe looked a bit rusty, when I was spraying but it seemed sound enough. If yours is in a similar state I would have to recommend instant repalcement, just think how you would feel if it fell of and hurt someone? [;)]

Tried to post a link, but failed miserably. [&:]
There's a thread on the 944 section of the forum, entitled Exhaust Rear Box, dating back to July, which might be of interest.
