Snowy excursion to Oulton Park...

Yesterday, two of the hardy individuals (no pun intended[:D]) off this forum ventured to visit Oulton Park for a coffee and a look at the cars and antics involved in a trackday that was on.

The roads were somewhat slippier (and saltier [8|]) than I envisaged, especially for Lee on his brand new (ie fitted en route to the circuit!) rear tyres.

Great to have a catch up and a coffee and there was a fantastically diverse collection of cars on track, from a new Nissan GTR to a ratty old Rover Metro - the Metro had a Honda Vtech engine fitted though, a full cage and slicks, so kept a hell of a lot of very expensive cars very honest all day![:D]

Anyway, a couple of pics from the day:

Thanks Mike.

B****y cold all day, but some great cars around, especially ours!

That GTR was awesome device and sound great too!

Nick, I love your car.
Maybe it's the wheels. Would probably need to sell my S2 to get a set though [:D]

Thom.I think youd be suprised how cheap these wheels can be ,, There not the most desirable of wheel...Although they do look good on Nicks car....
There 18" Sport Design wheels...

Hi Nick

Good to catch up at the weekend for a cuppa.

Need those just to keep warm [:D]

New tyres starting to feel slightly stickier now, although still driving it
like Miss Daisy for a little while longer tell they start gripping properly.

Catch up again soon, hopefully when the weather picks up.

Cheers

Lee

ps nice pics Nick, especially the guy in the Scooby that probably had to go and change his pants after his little excursion [:D][:D][:D][:D]

They are GT3 Mk1 wheels aren't they?
I just checked the price on the Porsche website and a set would send me north of £2k - not sure I would call that cheap!

Just found a used set with tyres for sale for €800 - will probably be more reasonable to wait until my next engine is running to see if I need more grip and then fit 17" or 18" wheels. Not sure those will look as good on my white car than on your red one though!
