As I always wash my car myself, last weekend never had the time so I took it through my local Garage Carwash.....Big mistake as my Carrera S badge got ruined!! My capital C now has only half of it left!!
Ordered a new one.....so annoyed!!

You'll b pleased to know from an opc they are only 15 quid. I bent mine when I had my 997 so had it replaced

Lets hope that's the only problem and you don't now have paintwork covered in microscratches due to broken strands in the revolving brushes. 12 years ago my Rover 820 turbo vitesse, metallic british racing green, was ruined this way (not by me!). The Sunday after I discovered this, Honest John ran an article about car washes, owners cutting their expenses by not changing brushes often enough, end result being paintwork covered in microscratches. I've never put a car through a car wash since.

Is that your new one ?
If so, terrible luck but I guess you are always tempting fate using the mangling machines

Hi Spyros, no I decided to stick with my 997C2S rather than change as could not bring myself to change it! It has a great spec, great history and was not worth the extra money changing to a Gen2 in my humble opinion.
For you guys who didnt know, nearly part-exd for a newer 997 Gen2 as they were doing a great deal but last minute changed my mind!

As for the Badge, ordered one off Porscheshop for around £20.00. Didnt try OPC to be honest.

Good job it wasnt the 'S' that was taken off, now that would hve been embarrassing!

Mine just has "911" now to avoid risk of such embarrassment[8D]

Never risked putting mine through an automated system.

There is a hand car wash down the road run by some Bosnians lots of guys with nice metal use and its very good.
