Bit of Fun

Lets see who can has the best Fuel Economy on their Trip Screen ...

A Simple rule to create a level playing field .. Mileage for the Trip screen calculation has to be > 1000 Miles

Here is my V6

Used for daily commuting into / around London, weekend shopping, tip runs etc ..

I'm driving back from south of Spain in the KN next week, I'll try and remember to hit the reset button before we start.

Mileage on my Cayenne S Tip is 18k and on my daily mixture of country road and A1 am getting a constant 21.5 mpg on optimax, 20 on Shell unleaded. Considering I has a Range Rover TD6 Diesel that gave me 23 mpg with a fraction of the performance of the KN I'm quite happy.

My 'S' has done 34k and is averaging 20mpg. Average journey is about 10 miles I would guess allowing for shopping trips and longer runs mixed with journeys to and from work (15 miles e/w).

Pretty happy with that.

Do you know I had never pressed the TRIP button until I saw this post I had always cycled through the controls on the stalk, you learn something new every day!
Anyway took a pic to back up my statement, my A1 trip is usually 3rd lane stuff

come on Mr Register boss.. we need photos :)

Do you ever use second gear!!!???

I had a rental E270cdi for a month earlier this year, and I certainly drove it like a rental car and still managed to get 28 over about 1,000 miles of mixed city and motorway driving. I'm sure driving it like I owned it would have added another 5 - 6 mpg to that figure.

Incidentally, I had a V6 Cayenne from the OPC for a weekend and I drove that fairly gently but averaged just 12 mpg over the weekend.....

You must have been trying pretty hard in the V6!

Over 57,000 miles we've averaged over 19mpg in our Cayenne S. In fact, as the miles have gone on, the mpg has improved and we get over 20mpg now. Very mixed use from heavy traffic to motorway, short local trips and a 3,000 mile trip across Europe earlier this year.

According to the material we've been sent from our OPC the new engine is more powerful and 10% more economical due to the direct injection. We'll see...

Well in the short space of time I have had the car am getting around 17 mpg. On the motorway usually get around 21 - 22, but on some of the country roads where I live have had as low as 8[:)], but what fun!

Out of interest, what fuel does everybody use?

[:D] A bit of fun it is then,

I'll try and post a pic at some point, so far my V6 is showing 23.4 over the last 1200 miles or so, this has involved a commute to Birmingham and general driving. Driving like a "vicar" up to Brum one Sunday night from Bristol returned 31.2....but I can't keep that going for ever.

I have a 2003 S with 30k on the clock. I have just done a round trip of 400 miles (mostly motorways) and i averaged 16mpg.
