I thought this might amuse on a wet afternoon .
I have snapped 10 objects under my bonnet (89 S2 ) some of which I do not know their name or function.
All you have to do is either name the part or the function for each in order top to bottom 1 to 10 and we'll see who is da man [:D]

944 Turbo is winning so far and he doesn't even have an S2 ![:(]

Dont have an S2 but...
1) dont know but its a connector located between the one for ABS / pad sensors and the clutch master cyclinder - Have you got cruise control?
2) bonnet switch for alarm (hamilton and palmer model)
3) in front of fuse box possibly something to do with fuel vapour purge.
4) first time i have seen anything mounted on that bracket (behind the passenger headlight) HID conversion?
5) AFM
6) Vacuum reservoir
7) vacuum operated valve, heater? and a multi plug possibly blower related though the wiring to it looks more alarmy than factory.
8) Again by the headlights but not sure fairly certain my car hasnt got one (or actually headlamp height adjust motor and my car does have that)
9) throttle position switch
10) vacuum operated valve - fuel pressure damper?

Strange these s2's ;)

ORIGINAL: 944Turbo

PS good post but get get out there and clean the leaves out of that engine bay ;)

I'll have a go but I'm well behind 944 turbo and he hasn't even got a S2 !

1) its a connector but no idea of function. The car had A/C but not cruise control as far as I know
2) bonnet switch for alarm
3) no idea
4) no idea but there is one either side
5) AFM
6) no idea
7) heater valve
8) don't know but both headlights have one I think there is a relay under the rubber cap
9) throttle position switch
10)no idea

No.1 is the connector to the Fuel Injection module which is housed under the metal bracket that it is mounted on. Remove the bracket and the ali cased module is stamped with Bosch. As found on S and S2. not sure about the others.
