Ok... The rear footwell was well sodden from unknown days of rain. I am pretty sure the culprit is the sunroof and will be ordering a new seal on tuesday, until then the junk in the garage has been arranged on top of the car ina Bukaroo styly!
When I was inspecting under the carpet I noticed that the "bakalite-esq" material that sists in the floor pan had cracked and was holding a lot of water under it so in true "thei is NOT how I wanted to spend a hungover Jan1st" I ripped it all up in an attempt to get to all of the water. I then "surgically" removed the part of the carpet that sits in the footwell.
So my question is what was the bakalight stuff and can it be replaced or do I just attack the exposed floor with some hammerrite and put the carpet back down when its dry?
also how have other people dried out their cars??
