Yeah, it's not like Audi, BMW and Merc have big luxury diesel saloons! Of course there will be a diesel Panamera, and the sooner the better.ORIGINAL: THX911 can't see a market for a diesel like the Cayennes...
Never thought of the Panamera would be tagged as a luxury saloon like Audi, BMW, Mercs... i.e. always thought Porsche brought it as a super saloon class i.e. Rapide, Quattroporte, Bentley... but guess given Porsche's mass manufacturering and urge to covering all markets, Diesel as well as Hybrid will be an option soon...ORIGINAL: John HYeah, it's not like Audi, BMW and Merc have big luxury diesel saloons! Porsche will go back to Le Mans, in fanfare, with a Panamera Diesel in the GT3 Class (called the Panamera GT3 RSRd). And the event will be announced with a great poster highlighting the lineage of the Panamera GT3 RSRd going straight back to the 917 (the panamera will have a balsa gear knob on its automatic gear selector).

If this is what you have been waiting for then..Its on its way................The Panamera Diesel....Porsche is claiming a range of almost 750 miles with its new Panamera diesel, details of which have been announced ahead of UK sales starting in August. The new model features a Porsche-tuned VW Group 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel motor, a common-rail unit with up to 2000 bar injector pressure and variable geometry turbocharging. It produces 247bhp and peak torque of 406lb ft between 1750rpm and 2750rpm; that’s a similar amount of twist to the 3.0-litre Cayenne diesel, but over a wider rev range. The Panamera gets a little more power, too.[8|]
