Lea! It is most likely that the front or roof water drains are blocked. Best get it sorted straight away, as the alarm control module is under the passenger seat, and if it gets wet it is expensive......

just another quick question whats the best way to acces the front drainage tube is it thro the passenger foot well ?????????

The front drain from the sunroof goes down the A pillar, and exits through a rubber grommet in the door shut. Fairly easy to see when you open the door. The front drains are on either side of the battery, and go straight out the bottom of the car. You can poke the muck out with a screwdriver.

The Targa drainage plan is slighly different, with a central roof drain added. I'm not sure of the route it takes though. I would start by looking at the bettery area. If you have a lot of water slopping about there, it gets in to the footwell from the front. Edit: Sorry - forgot. I use an airline for the roof drains, at a low pressure. On my 3.2 I found it was quite effective to poke strimmer cable down the tubes.

Hi, All the rain and snow we have had I too have a wet rear footwell! This time its the drivers side. Mine is a carrera 2 with a sun roof. So at the weekend helped by the image supplied by Richard I opened the sunroof fully back. Carefully poured a small amount of water down the 2 front drains. No problems water running away OK. Then to the back ones. The passengers side was OK. The drivers side is a problem. No water draining away at all. Assume this is the problem. Leamus 123, before I start removing the trim inside panels etc how did you get access to the outlet of the rear drain tubes? Cheers Steve

IIRC it is a rubber tube that comes out the bottom of the engine compartment just below the base of the rear edge of the C pillar.

Richard, Many thanks. Sounds like a job best done up on the ramps. Will have a look at the weekend. Cheers Steve.

Here you go. The rear drains are usually the problem ones on a cabriolet. They exit into the wheel arch through a rubber grommet thingy, but this is behind the wheel arch liner, so difficult/impossible to see....

Hi Well was a dry day yesterday so up on the ramps. Richard thanks for the guidance. Yes the rubber drains things are a bit of a challenge to find. But gave both or them a poke with a long screwdriver and both seemed OK no blockage I could see or feel. So off the ramp and poured some water down the passengers side of the sunroof. The water poured out of the drain. Doing the same on the drivers side and nothing! So back up on the ramps, poke with the screwdriver and slight dampness! So I suspect the blockage is at the sunroof end. Deep joy. Any thoughts apart from removing the sunroof how I check and clear this. Poking around with a coat hanger maybe. Thanks Steve.

Had this not so long ago on our c4s cab, remove rear speakers and you will find a plastic cover, remove this you will see the secondary drain cup and pipe leading off from this, use a thin bit of wire, careful not to damage the rubber drain pipe. Paul

Hi, Thanks to everyone for the helpful posts. Had a gentle poke around the back drains with some wire and they seemed clear. So I then removed the inside C pillar trim. Well mainly to dry it out behind it as I could see water dripping from the rear seat belt trim. And there was the answer! The drain tube runs in clips between the C pillar trim and the C pillar. The tube was not sitting in the last clip and was being crushed by two of the fixing tabs that hold the C pillar trim in place. As I pulled the trim off out flowed the water. Now has this been like this since it left the factory? It’s hard to tell but does not look like it’s been off in the past. Just thankful I do not have to get the sunroof out. Thanks Steve
