Soggy passenger footwell

Guest

New member
When it rains heavily, I'm getting a leak into the footwell on the passenger side.

When the door is opened, there is a build up of water in the V of the door seal which is leaking into the car under the speaker, the carpet directly under the speaker is also wet.

I've noted from other sites that other people have had this issue but as yet have seen no resolution, any ideas anybody?

Is there a plastic sheet / liner inside the door ? if so it may have a hole in it,
is the actual door seal itself intact ?
Has the glass ever been replaced ? dodgy fitters dont bother about the liners so if the water runs down the glass into the door it will find its way into the car instead of staying on the other side of the plastic and draining out the bottom.
check drains on the door bottom
Cant think of anything else i would do

PS. On a related subject.........When it rained / hailed / blew a gale yesterday, my kitchen ceiling leaked []

When I had this problem it was traced to the seal around the air conditioning pipes where they pass through the bulkhead.

how old is it , early cars had a problem with the seals around the mirror and the scraper rubber trim at the bottom of the door glass along with the plastic membrane between the door and trim card/panel (try this first as its the simplest)
