Hi folks,
I just had to say how impressed i was with Solihull Porsche, the work shop and facillities to keep the current machines serviced.[note i say current]The staff were most pleasant and helpfull.O.K it was a club meet there and i was invited so i went along with my trusty old 3.2 for a health check.
I now know why our cars are so valued by the many, the fact is they are so nice to work on,take a look at the new 991 flip the engine cover and what did i see only access to oil filler cap and dip stick.I questioned one of the technicians and he said the engine has to be removed to change the air filters!!
The new range might be very driver friendly very refined and cosseting but i will stick with what i have got.The spark plugs removed and cleaned in 20mins dead and 5mins extra for the air filter.Mine i definately a keeper.

I was under the impression that it is the rear bumper that needs to be removed to change the air filter, not the engine. Still it makes it a very expensive job at £100+ per hour.

ORIGINAL: supersport

If you checkout the OPC fixed price servicing costs the 991 is no dearer than the 997's! Minor £480 and major £ 610 incl of VAT

I use an independant and drive an older car so have never had any reason to check out the OPC servicing costs, but is interesting to see that it is the same.

You would assume that if the bumper needs to be removed it would be a simple process in order to keep the time/effort down though.
