hi, can anyone tell me a bit about the 968 coupe please; how much room in the back is there compared with a 911. What are the manuals like to drive, what is the handling/traction like, and are there any obvious/persistent reliability problems associated with them ? I'm thinking of buying something like this for a day-to-day car. How practical/realistic is that ? Many thanks in advance.

Very practical and many 968's are used as everyday cars. Handling will shame most 911's as the 68 is so well balanced it is only in a straight
line that a 911 is quicker. As for room in the back, not much room for adults but small children are fine. With the seats down you can get
two mountain bikes or three sets of golf clubs in easily.
There are no specific mecahnical things to look for, but cams need to be checked regularly, as to belts etc. A good recent service history
is always desirable and as with anything buy on condition rather than mileage.
Hope this helps as a strater..

Many thanks, that's really helpul. Am not really looking for anything super-fast, but something that handles well and most of all is fun and puts a smile on you face every time you drive it. Cheers, Nick

I bought my 968 to use as my everyday workhorse, having had 944`s in the past I like the practicality of these front engined cars. There is so much more room, its amazing what you can get into a 968 compared to a 911.
Loads of fun for much less money compared to a similar era 911, very easy to drive and they are extremely quick cross country if you are in a hurry. 968`s are very well priced at the moment, so a very good time to buy a real world driving performance bargain.

Many thanks for all the replies. Am not a hairdresser, therefore Boxster is indeed ruled out [] And most of all, i do need to fit stuff in other than myself, from time to time. Agree that the 968's look very good value cp with other sports cars of similar age. Will have to get around to looking at some... Thanks again, Nick
