I was taking the seats out today ready to have them refurbished and spotted something else to worry about.
The left hand rear mounting for the driver's seat runners (LHD) has collapsed. It is a pressed steel turret, spot welded to the floor with a captive bar with two tappings under it. The whole turret had split down the line of the two holes. I guess it won't be a big job to have a new one fabricated and welded in, but I hate to think what would have happened in a crash.
It's only a half hour job to take the seat out and refit it and all you need is a 6mm allen key so it would be worth checking in case it has happened to yours too.
