SORRY! Really Trivial Geeky Question!!!!!

Hi,

Please excuse the following really geeky question. I am trying to buy a 944S2 and have noticed that on the rear of the car, where the "944S2" lettering is, the "S2" bit is written slightly beneath the "944". I went to see one the other day, however, (G-reg) and noticed that all the lettering was in-line. Does this mean that it has been in an accident or can the letters be written in either manner? SORRY for asking such a trivial question, but I have to know!!!!!

Cheers!

To my knowledge they were allways originally fitted with the 2 slightly below the S. They are just stuck on though and can easily have been replaced for any number of reasons that aren't especially sinister.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Does the car in question have the paper sticker with option codes stuck to the inside of the rear panel? If not it could have been removed legitimately but usually that's considered a sign the rear panel has been replaced. Of course the sticker doesn't take a master forger to fake so having it present isn't conclusive. That said anyone who knows enough and takes the time to fake the sticker would probably put the badge on correctly as well...[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

Look at it as a positive thing.

The fact you've noticed the badge is wrong, now means you can give the rear end of the car a REAL close inspection.

It 'could' be the sign of a repair or it could just be that it fell off and was replaced incorrectly
