Conventional wisdom with road tyres on track is usually to run them hot at the pressure you would normally run cold on road (ie 36 psi all round on a 964 on 17s). Rossos are arguably a bit stickier and might benefit from a pound or two reduction in pressure. I would get them stable at 36 all round then maybe try dropping down to 34 front and you may get some more bite on turn in.

Hope this helps. []

Driving style can have a lot to do with it too. Try the car with a balanced setup all round, lap until you are getting consistent lap times, then you can gradually adjust pressures to alter handling characteristic to suit your style eg. increasing front pressures will make the car more pointy, increasing rear can dial in a bit more understeer - 2 lbs a time can make a significant difference! The stopwatch will tell you if your making progress (or not!).
Hope this helps. []

If you or your supporters are caught timing on a trackday you will be out on your ear.

No mention is made of a "trackday" in the original post but thanks anyway for pointing this out. []
