South of France trip, where to stay?

Leaving the office yesterday it was more than uplifting to see for once a bit of blue sky which got me thinking of better weather ahead and holidays and more specifically, myself and the family piling down to the South of France in the Targa for a week in June.[:)][:)][:)][:)]

The plan is to book a villa in the Languedoc area down near Montpellier, Millau Bridge, Avignon, mountains, gorges, great driving roads, etc. What I would like to ask is if you have any recommendations of really nice places to stay with the obligatory safe parking plus somewhere c. halfway down France as an overnight stop.

If you want somewhere clean and tidy, not expensive and just for the night try the Ibis hotels. The great thing is you can book them up along your route, online before you leave. But they are just one nighters.

I agree with Peter, Ibis usually have a compound-type car park, and unlike Campanile, they are usually situated near enough to walk to restos and shops. I would suggest skipping the breakfast in the hotel and find a cafe where you`ll get a nice fresh grand creme and a proper croissant.Watch out for radar on the autoroute, its no longer possible to whizz with impunity anymore.
