Basically:

Saturday:
We got on the ferry.
The ferry ripped off gungho's splitter.
Someone lost about £200 at the ship casino.
My car broke down 3 miles off the ferry, waited 9 hours for Porsche "complete lack of" Assistance - rest of trip completed in a Gold TDI [:(]

Monday:
Someone fiddled the donkey at 5.30am then 7.30am
Gungho spotted a racoon
Went to the ring - rained
Dried out later, a few laps done

Tuesday:
Spa - wet wet wet
Everyone was careful, no damage to anyone we know
A caterham thing hit the wall and was written off, as did a GT3 RS (no-one we know)
Dried out a bit later and got a few dry laps
In the evening an experiment discovered that "twa beers" brings three

Wednesday:
More wet wet wet
Dried out later on and a good couple of hours track time
Much salivating over MILF serving in on-site cafe

Thursday:
Wet again, took a wee drive down to Cochem to see Klaus
Went up to Manthey Racing and knocked the door - impromptu tour of workshop was granted

Friday:
Drove back north, collected my car in Gent (over-filled with oil and unnecessary work complete)
Went to Brugge for lunch - first bit of nice weather all week
Got on the ferry, drank far too much

i can confrim that gungho claims to have seen a racoon !

it was however cunningly disguised as a fox !

can also confirm, it did rain, alot !

scottie

And I almost took Gordon up on that offer of a spare seat. All I would have heard all week was " I lost my ****ing splitter" and it's pishing down! ;O)

Hope you enjoyed it anyway?

What happened to your car Grieg? Had you been doing modifications in your garage again? Those bits you had left over REALLY do matter! ;O)

Charles

Booked for Sept trip to Spa nad the Ring!

Spa is called "le pot de chambre des Ardennes."

Free drive around the Spa in Sept. for anyone who translates for me...

You may laugh at the Belgians referring to "potties", but we may well have to use them ourselves due to water shortages!

Britcar was dry...

Simple coil pack going kaput, but terrible timing and even more terrible service from Porsche Assist - just finished composing my 5-page letter of grievances.

Lets just say 9 hours at the roadside, missed the whole week, car back with unnecessary work and overfilled with wrong grade of oil...

..oh, and andy - I agree and most of the salivating was by the dirty old men in our group (you know who you are!!) but she did have decent thruppenneys [;)]

You should have phoned Olav.

http://www.speedservice.nl/

He would have picked you up and fixed your car in time for the track days. Ask PhilRS as he has had to be bailed out by him loads of times with his fragile RSR. ;O)

Olav now come to the track and shares our pits as he knows he will get lots of business!

Not from me! :O) Well I did snap a weld on the old Recaro but that was due to the good food and wine!

Who ate all the pies, who ate all the pies......

He is doing my wishbones and valve clearance before the next days in Sept.

well that sounds like an adventure!! Sorry to hear about your car G - dissapointing. > were the Scottish boys the fastest given all the fecking rain practice we get??

At least it sounds like a few beers were consumed although that may be the cause of the Racoon sighting _ thought they werenative canadian not Belgian, unless Racoons are like those other furry friends[:D]

"Much salivating over MILF serving in on-site cafe"

She made a good cup of coffee too!! ;-)

How were the wishbones Melv? I need to do mine now. Uniball I think.

Did you manage to see through the spray of the Scottish piss heads when they overtook you? ;O)

Have you checked out PhilRS video on 964RS page. It was hell of a hot and sunny for 3 days. I had to stop to get a drink as I was overheating! Early May was obviously the better weather this year.

Charles

I had a split hose and was losing coolant last session of Tuesday. Porsche Lack Of Assistance sprang to the rescue and I was back on the road Thursday by 2.30.

Nearly two days to replace a common simple part.

And with questions like 'Sir where was your car built??' 'Has it been exported??'

And statements like 'Porsche have no record of your car' 'You need Porsche Assist Germany/Belgium/France' depending on who you are talking to soon had my mobile bill soaring as quickly as my battery was flattened.

They were f$%^&*(*^&%^%$ing useless!

Andy T had a problem with his car and went through his insurance (free RAC Europe cover with the policy) and within 30 minutes was sorted!

I too am sending a strongly worded letter to Porsche Assist together with a large mobile bill. Their whole attitude was to avoid responsibility and to try and fob you from one centre to another and to say they had no record of the warranty policy despite the fact I gave them OPC Guildford number and had the policy document with me!

Disgusted of AAaaaaampshire

Guys, next time call Olav! Seriously, it might pay off to get something organised to benefit from some form of track assistance. Given the number of people going to these track days, the similarity of cars, the marginal cost that it would represent for those willing to dip in, and the ensuing relief of being able to go back on track after a minor problem (or even a change of roll-bar set up for wet wheather conditions!), it might be worthwhile considering doing something--e.g. amongst 964 RS owners.

Unfortnately my breakdown was at the other end of Belgium, so getting it to Olav would have been difficult. In all honest mine was a simple problem which should have been fixed in a few hours, but it was incredibly poorly managed from start to finish, and once "in the system" I would have had difficulty getting the car back from the clutches of the OPC without invalidating warranty.

When at the OPC Liege I even offered to do the repair myself as 5 mins with a screwdriver and I could have gone home. They insisted I stay put and ogle the receptionist for 6 hours - at least I think that's what they said....

And yes Phll i gave Raymond his no. and 40 mins later 2nd hand drive shaft fitted cost £50.00 delighted Also said his garage was spottless , but thats the service you get from Porsche asst is it worth it !!!!! esp ABROAD
