Assume everybody back OK -Chris and I had 1.5 hr delay at Calais as boat went tech in the morning so running late -nothing to do with volcanic ash............back at Spear Towers eight-thirty............and the rest?[:)]

Clear run to Dunkerque, arrived at about 12, no queues, ferry on time and not too busy, got home just after 4:30 - easiest trip back yet!

Clear run to Dunkerque but got caught in the roadworks 1km from motorway exit! Caught our planned 6pm ferry and home by 8.45. Perfect weekend including Tourist day at the Ring on Sunday and stayed for half the track day today. Brilliant!

Clear run to calais ferry delayed 40mins, no Drama, loads of coaches. Back at 5pm. Got car off trailer - never want to see the trailer again.

building a list of parts of required.

Oh, sarah nearly put the car in the back of the garage - due to lack of brakes!!! :)

I got in to Newcastle at 9.30am. Boat was heaving with passengers.

Car dropped off at 12pm for MOT and beat the Rosyth ferry to the Bridge!

Trailer is excellent. I can recommend the Brian James A max 220T to anyone.

Borrowed a neighbour's garage for the RS so I can fit them all in under cover.

First on the ferry after shop at Auchan ..... nice sail no dramas at port... negotiated the kettle over the hump sideways much to amusement everyone ... easy drive back SE London, thanks Ian for showing the way out of Spa despite my Sat Nav trying to take us round Brussells nearly all the way to Dunkirk, Sally (sat nav) would not give up!

ORIGINAL: Laurence Gibbs

What did you tow with? How did you find towing (assuming you haven't before ?)

Laurence I used my work car Saab 9-3 1.9 TiD 150bhp. Tow limit 1600kg.

Cup 1120kg Trailer 530kg

Was right on the limit but it was no problem even up the steep ramp on the ferry which I was not looking forward too.

Towing was easy with this low trailer. It is wide too. Reversing was fun to start with but as you see in the photos I got into a double space in Spa and straightened up no problem. I would advise a A- Max if you ever have to tow.

Charles

Thanks Charles, I'll check it out, having a wider trailer, would not only make it easy to put on, but would increase stability at speed I'm sure.

I towed with a Merc Sprinter (not a bl00dy Transit Paul!!!), which is completely fine, although the whole thing is a little long.

Nice to put some faces to names! And many thanks Paul for some memorable laps of Spa in your RS!! Really appreciated.
Dan and I had a great weekend. Visited the Ring sunday am before heading back for the Eurotunnel on sunday evening.
Cheers all,
Jon

Charles, let me know if you put it up for sale, if I'm not interested (Which I might be) then I know someone else who may well be.

Oh and nice to meet you and see your lovely car - it was beautifully prepared. Gave me some good ideas. Esp. over the FE fitting.
