Just do the 3 days at 1100. If you have a passenger then maybe extra open bar but it is included for driver.

I have organised the F1 box so money comes to me. I just need to firm up no.'s to work out cost.

Will do, had a reply from Francis today and will fax him with the confirmation tomorrow.

Tnx 4 yr help !

Any ideas on how to pay the bill in Euros? I only have sterling accounts. Are there any alternatives?

You need to do a SWIFT £20 transfer to Euro. Cheaper than the 40Euro charge for Eurocheques. You could gang up and do one transfer as long as you quote your Surnames in transfer.

I have a Euro account which will enable us to purchase Euros at commercial rates and pay at one go --- if you wish.

The exchange rate obviously varies by the day --- 1.09 today ??

I think payment needs to be made before the 1st May --- I guess once the Euros are purchased they may as well be paid. So the guess is, where is the Euro going v Sterling ?

Conventional wisdom would suggest that the Euro problems could be greater than Sterling's --- and therefore Sterling should strengthen --- but to where ?

Chris I think I will take you up on that as I need to pay 3800Euro to Francis for pits and 3 days.

We have some folk paying in Euro so I need to work out how we pay that directly.

Chris - hopefully my bill will only be 1100 Euros + 150 Euros for Ian if he wants to pay for the track hospitality. So your offer will be greatly appreciated - just let me know how you would like payment - cash or cheque.

OK --- how can I fit in a long holiday before you find out I've spent your cash ?? [;)]

I guess the thing to do is find out how many people may wish to do this and to whom the payment, ultimately, should go.

It would make sense for the £ to Euro exchange to be made on the day --- that way each person gets the rate when they paid, and we can then transfer the whole of the funds in good time. Or, I can buy the Euros we will need at a known rate, each person pays me the Sterling equivalent of their payment in Euros at this rate, and I then make the payment for us all once paid.

Multiple payments will add costs --- so we could set ourselves a date when we will buy the Euros and a date by which the Sterling should be paid and a date by which the Euro payment should be made. Any later payments would then cost extra, the extra cost of the individual transfer ...

Also, cheque payments take time to clear ...

I am open to suggestions --- 'not panning a holiday [:D]

I think they would prefer it well before the deadline as they get lots of people who want to go but the spaces are full up.

It is only when you pay up you know you have your space.
