Space saver wheel for 987.2

Hi
i'd like to purchase a spare wheel, jack etc that I've seen for sale for my 987.2 Boxster 2.9. My car has 18" wheels and I'd prefer to have a space saver spare rather than use the aerosol that is supplied as it's my daily driver.

Would someone be able to advise me on the following please:
1. Would part 996.362.130.01 with T105/95R17 be OK to use? I believe it fits a 986/987/996.
2 If I can use one of these can I only use it on the front or could I use it on both axles?
3. Is there anything else I should be considering/concerned about?

Thanks in anticipation.
John

You can use it on both axles. Get an OPC to confirm it fits though. Yes you need a storage kit and jack and wheel nut remover also.

John,

Before you purchase I'd make sure that you can fit the rear wheel in the bonnet space (the front wheel most probably will fit). You don't want your passenger carrying it on their lap..!

yes is a factor, if I recall on my Speedster it was provided with plastic bag to put wheel in as could not get rear underhood ?? Fortunately never had to use it as only place possibly would have been on passengers lap as I had a rear seat delete kit fitted which reduced height under the clamshell

when I had my 987, I looked in to this ,you will not fit rear wheel into front boot, there was a kit you could buy somewhere with a rubber mat and a strap you could then strap the wheel onto the top of the rear boot with rubber mat underneath to protect paint,in the end I bought a puncture repair kit and two cans of holts tyre weld (for some reason if the tyre has been fixed with Porsche repair kit it cannot be repaired with holts tyre weld it can be repaired because it is water based )this is ok for a puncture if the tyre had a blowout I would have called my breakdown service.(did see someone before use a ratchet straps to compress tyre to make the punctured wheel fit though)
